Note: This Cayman Islands Business Law Course is the only business law course that has been approved by the Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants to meet the requirements of the Cayman Islands Accountants (Amendment) Act 2022.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Describe and explain how companies are managed, administered and regulated
  • Demonstrate an understanding of governance, regulation and ethical issues relating to business
  • Recognise the legal implications relating to companies in difficulty or in crisis

Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Credit: 3 CPE credits have been granted based on a 50-minute hour.

The Cayman Islands  Business Law syllabus covers a range of specific business areas relating to accounting professionals, primarily the law relating to companies and other commercial vehicles. These laws include the formation and constitution of companies, the financing of companies and types of capital, and the day-to-day management, the administration and regulation of companies and when companies face difficulty or are in crisis.

A 45 minute online exam will assess understanding and application of the entire syllabus. A minimum mark of 70% is required to pass the assessment.
